If time permits we are thinking about possibly going through Yellowstone on our way home after our Hunting trip.
Can you drive through the Park if you have firearms in the vehicle ? What about having processed or boned game with you ?
Thanks

No problem at all and you don't even need to declare them or the meat. You can't have any dead animals you've taken that are visible by other motorists though and would be the only thing they watch for.

When di they start charging $50 bucks?? Drove thru from the east side and out the southern side and NO charge 2 years ago. It was NOV also and sunny.

We were planning on driving through the park also in November on the way for a hunt. Can anyone suggest some things to see? I guess we would check out old faithfull. Looking to check out some elk if they haven't migrated or aren't wolf poop. Thought I would jump in, thanks.

Topgun, just curious if the Park's policy has changed. I had this same scenario back in 2008. I was done with a successful muley hunt in Idaho and went to yellowstone to take a break and do some sightseeing. Regarding the meat I had in a cooler and the antlers - when I entered the park they had me fill out a form and told me I couldnt stop along the road and had to exit the other side of the park and stop again to produce the paperwork. Basically I could travel through but not stop. I guess they are worried about potential poaching in the Park. Perhaps it has changed since then? Personally I wouldnt even declare the firearm or meat (or antlers) as long as its not visible as it was a hassle in my opinion.

All the roads in Yellowstone close on November 7, 2016 except the road from the North Entrance to the Northeast Entrance.

After the labor day weekend most tourist are heading out. So travel goes quicker. Dont get stuck behind the guy that wants to stop in the middle of the road to watch every blade of.grass

I looked on the website and yes, all interior roads are closed, looks like just the Mammoth to NE entrance is open. We may change our plans, thanks for the heads up.
