LAST EDITED ON Aug-28-16 AT 09:23AM (MST)[p]I have a unit 75 tag. Was wondering on what to expect and things to do around Shoshoni and Riverton when not hunting. My dad and brother are coming along and we want to have fun as well as the hunt. So what can I expect for trophy quality, things to do around the area and places to eat.

LOTS OF PRIVATE LAND HOLDINGS, A GPS WILL HELP. WE CAMPED SO I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT PLACES TO STAY. I WONT APPLY FOR 75 AGAIN AS OTHER UNITS ARE MORE USER FRIENDLY..............YD.

Not much going on in Riverton. And just FYI... if you're not native, don't mingle with the native crowd. Especially as an out of towner.

Shoshoni is a very small place but does have a decent Motel there and right next door is a Caf? and ok food. That is about all there is there unless you want to drive north of there to fish on a resv. Where is spell check when you need it.

Lander is the nicest closest town and Thermopolis is a nice little town, Riverton is a little dirtier but has more options as far as food and supplies. Fishing on the river below the Boysen Dam in the Wind River Canyon is good, but make sure you get your fishing license for the Wind River Indian Reservation.Sinks Canyon is cool up above Lander, the Dinosaur Museum is one of the best in Thermopolis if your into that as well as the hot springs and mineral pools in Thermopolis. 75 has plenty of public land, been hunting it for years with BLM maps and have the tag again this year.

+1 on speed trap. Also, cafe in Shoshone is closed. Motel is open.

well first off our cafe in Shoshoni has shut down so don't expect a meal here! Thermopolis has hot springs with pools, Riverton and lander both have casinos with decent places to eat. As far as private lands in and around where you will be chasing goats you should be ok.
