My youngest daughter got a very cool 6x5 whitetail buck today. The bucks were definitely cruising and one good buck already had a doe that he was on all day long. It has begun!

That is a great wyoming whitetail, congratulations to both you and your daughter Jeff. I hope to turn up something big like that, but not much chasing going on where I've been hunting.

Stick with the does, they've been cruising and checking
since the 1st.

Maybe I've timed it late this year jeff. I usually hunt hard the week of veterans day. Was out again this evening and saw several bucks. One was a mature 130ish type buck and he could care less about the does coming into the fields. I'm hunting the Le Prele creek area.

It's weird how they are different along the same range. We were north of you. I called Lindsey's in, but of course the buck with the doe wouldn't budge.

Where you are, and pretty much all around here, I have seen the buck and doe pairs out in the prairie during lockdown. It will just get crazy from here on out. I expect a pic of your buck when you fill out!

Great buck for your daughter jm77! I went out for whitetails the first time sunday evening. The two best bucks were definitely cruising. They just kept working the river bottom going from group of does to group of does. Best I saw was a nice 5x5. Does showed little to no interest. Not much experience with WT deer but I assume the bucks just keep searching until they find a receptive doe. Any thoughts on rattling? Is it a waste of time? I got permission on 1700 acres of river bottom and ag fields. It has a good number of does. Must have seen 50 yesterday evening. 5 bucks total. First time hunting this area so it was more of a recon day than anything, will try again on Friday.

That whitey rack is neat and looks like a mixture of whitetail and mule deer Jeff. Congrats to your daughter!

Sort of does, I guess Mike, but he's all whitetail, right down to his metatarsal gland.

That's awesome Jeff!
Huge congrats to your daughter!

I have a soft spot for daughter who hunt.

PS: there are a couple strips of nasty meat right along the backbone and tell her I'll take them if she doesn't want them. LOL

Nice work. Its very cool how many daughter pictures are on here. Its the future of our sport and just a great thing to see. Congrats to her - and to her dad !!
