Hello MMers,
I am looking at type 9 tags in 11, 39 or 40. I was pretty much set on 39 or 40, but thought I might ask general thoughts about 11. I am a NR, in good shape and love hunting elk! Type 9 is a better fit for me, as I do not have the time to go back and rifle hunt. 11 is closer to home, but seems quite a bit smaller than 39 and 40. Can a guy get away from the crowds in 11? No "good spots" or "honey holes" wanted. Just an opinion on access and quality of hunt. Thank you for your time!

39 and 40....40 would be better to get away from people but you have to drop down and come back up for most of the hunting in the unit. 39 you will have a lot of people too accessible. Either way 39 or 40 your gonna have a crowd.

40 is brutal! Straight up and down where we found elk! It's weather dependent for sure, don't let anyone bs you it isn't!
