nr elk 2017

IMHO if I put in for the draw I wouldn't be telling anyone out on the net what I put in for until after the Modify/Withdraw date of 2/3 passes.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Why on earth would anybody want to apply where you did?

I applied for unit 007-1 with two NR PP what do you guys think the chance of drawing that unit is ?

Or Zero!

Because there are a lot of "lazy lurkers" out on the net that don't do their homework and just search the various hunting websites looking for a better place to apply than what they put in for originally. How many times do you see a guy come on a website and make his first post wanting to know where to hunt, but he's not asking for your "honeyhole", LOL!

>So your telling me I have
>a chance haha

As long as there are Random tags in a unit you always have a chance. In the case of unit 7, there were 1060 first choice applicants for 21 tags last year and that works out to a 1.9% chance. Good luck!

>Actually 2.5%. Good luck.

I stand corrected! My old eyes saw 21 tags and it was actually 27 available, so your math is on the button!

Your true calling is a Wyoming hunting consultant.

I'm in for Area 7 also, Random Special Draw 4 1/2% chance. I'm going to apply for a PP anyway so might as well apply for a tag.

Of course I have done this the last five years with no tag.

Is there a over the counter cow tag for unit 007 if I don't draw which sounds like most likely I won't

Points only for me this year.

Taking 2 weeks off work to visit some family in Europe so probably can't make the 2 day drive (each way) to WY this year :(

There really aren't any OTC tags as such in Wyoming. There will be a second draw for tags that are left over after the initial draws this year that people will have to apply for. There will probably be cow tags left for 7 since they issue a ton of them, so watch later this year as soon as the first draw results are posted so you're ready when the application period and second draw is held.

There isn't a second draw in Wyoming. When the leftover tags go on sale, they are first-come, first-served. No application period, no draw.

I hope you're talking about a unit 16 in a state other than Wyoming because a landowner in Wyoming has to use the tag himself. It's not transferable or able to be sold to anyone and never has been. If you're talking about unit 16 in Wyoming your "smoking deal" will have you up on some serious game violation charges!

Yes, you're smoking something alright...

I had a landowner tag last year for a different unit. It came with my name on it. I own no land in WY. It is completely legal how I can get them. But for the record I didnt "buy" them. But a service was rendered per federal (not state) to qualify for the loophole. I know of dozens of other guys who get landowner tags in the great state of WY that do not own land there.

If you dont know Im not sure why I should explain it to you. Good luck talking to your game warden, most do not know about the loophole. But the one I encountered last fall now does.

I think this qualifies you to join the elite company of the "Hunting Website Badboy Club". Congrats... Hopefully sometime you can fill us all in on some of your secrets.

You would have to be a stockholder in a Corporation that owns land

"Not me, i lucked into buying a landowner tag from a co worker. Is area 16 a good tag? Got a smoking deal on it." These are your words...

I have a bridge in the Red Desert to sell you.

If there's a loophole, we'll know about it soon.

It's embarrassing you don't already know about it. But you know where to send the PM with your apology letter...

Guess you guys were too tied up in Flounders bill...

Never had a thing to do with "Founder's Bill".

And I won't apologize about anything for not knowing about it. The bottom line, IF this is true, you just ruined your good thing. No way would it stand up with public knowledge, what you are describing.

Just read where he said he went to Alaska solo, bought an OTC grizzly tag, killed one, and then had it tagged at the G&F Office. This guy is either an A #1 fiction writer or a poacher! Come tomorrow I'd bet I won't be the only one contacting the Chief of the Wyoming G&F Enforcement Division to inquire about this "landowner loophole" and if there is any such thing I'll bet money it will be closed before he gets another landowner license, as loose lips sink ships, LOL!

Hey Tom Speaker, if that's even your real name, you had better be looking behind you from here on, as your posts are either bogus or are going to get you in a heap of trouble!

PS: I didn't take kindly to that nasty PM you sent after all I did in the one I sent you was to try to keep you from doing something illegal! So much for me being a Mr. nice guy trying to help a fellow hunter!

Take a look at how many posts Faultcurrent has on this website. Take a deep breath guys! I have a feeling what he claims aren't legit and he is just trying to ruffle some feathers!
