Elk - Unit 11

Was lucky enough to draw a type-1 unit 11 elk tag. I am planning to get the archery permit and bow hunt the last half of September as well.

I expect to make a few scouting trips over the summer to get more familiar with the area, but as a non-resident my trips may be limited.

Does anyone have any insight on this unit, and would be willing to point me in the right direction? I would be grateful for any info you are willing to provide.

I have never hunted it. Look for as much roadless area as possible above a peice of land that doesn't allow hunting or at least doesn't allow public access.
Sadly you are newer to the site. Do some homework and come back w/ specific questions. Most will help those that help themselves. Good luck and a better than average tag!

I hunted antelope on the miracle mile last year. Didn't see much for elk, but I imagine they cannot be too far off. Those canyons coming over the top of seminoe reservoir look like just the place the bulls hang out.
