Unit 7 Elk

Me and a buddy Drew the 7 type 1 tag... Would love to hear from anybody that hunted this the last couple years... good and bad, public or private. Pm if preferred, always willing to trade info in Utah and Co. I will keep you all posted on scouting and outcome this fall. Good luck in the rest of the draws and hunts this fall!

Regular Draw was 100% with 9PPs and <9PPs was 30.77%. In the Special Draw <9PPs was 100% and 8PPs was 71.7%.

TOPGUN is on the money. We had 9 in regular draw. Any experiences in the last couple years TOPGUN?

Lots of private but some ranches allow trespass fee hunting. Some public land will get hunted hard. Be ready for snow. Call the Laramie G&F office and talk with the biologist and game warden .

10-4 wytex, and chipc on what both said. Thank you. I'll be chasing em around with the bow hoping to kill one then. I've got a few spots to hit already so thanks. Just wanting to hear from some guys that's hunted it recently. Not a lot of hunt reports or success pics other than 5k-8k outfitter pics on here....

A friend of mine did a trespass hunt in 7 last season and shot a 340 bill with his bow. He had video of a legit 370 bull, but could not get him bow range. Still some good elk in 7...

Josh, look on those old unit 7 threads for guys that either have hunted 7 or were looking for info in the past. Send them a private message and ask your questions. You'll get way better results than waiting for guys to post answers to your questions on here. Just my .02 Good luck. Chip

Lots of elk, lots of people on public land. BUT had a great hunt, did a lot of hikin where you can in the forest. Called in a bunch of bulls. Hard to get past the 280-300 satellite and herd bulls but did find a few bigger. Killed a good bull in a snowstorm and called in 17 different bulls under 40 yards that crazy snow day.... if you can get access through private to the forest, do it. It?ll be worth it. FYI, I heard the rifle hunt was a zoo.

Great bull and especially with a bow. That snowy day must have been one heck of lot of fun calling that many bulls in close. Congrats man!
