7 antelope pts, thinking Area 67, 75 or ?

My plan was to hold onto my 7 pref points for another year or two but due to a lack of tags being drawn by myself and some friends, I am now considering burning my points.

Area 67 and 75 are on my short list and from what I read, the winter wasn't too bad there. Thought I'd reach out for some info from anyone familiar with those areas - or any other areas worth burning 7 points on - that didn't have severe winter kill.

FYI stuff - I'd like to kill a high 70's kind of buck. I will be hunting alone and camping. Also, once I cash these points in, I will be looking to hunt units that require far fewer points so this is a one and done kind of deal.

Thanks.

I think 57 is one of the better area's in the state. Might want to check out the 57-2 tag and its boundary's. Draw odd's are on the G&F website...

I'd cast another vote for 75. Hunted along the border of 75 in another unit for a week last year. We were field judging a 78"+ goat for every 75 bucks we located, and we glassed over 300 in 6+ days. Awesome place to chase goats, that's for sure!

Lots of tags though in 75, I'd highly recommend going ~3 weeks into the season for a much more pleasant hunt.

This goat with symmetry to match his best side would have gone 80"-81", 78 and change as is.

Another buck we believed to gross B&C that mingled with cows just over the public-private line for several hours before drifting further onto lands we could not access.

Both bucks within 6-8 miles of Unit 75.

I vote for 75 over 67. Go last 2 weeks of season & prepare for cold weather too. This would be in Oct. I have hunted both units. Fine bucks in both, but 67 really gets hammered the first 4-5 days by the "Casper Wild Bunch". Wild & crazy hunting. If you decide on 67, I still have my maps marked & would be glad to tell you what I saw there & where my wife killed an 80 " Net Score B & C buck on day 7. I hunted lots more days there for a smoker but could not find one, ate that tag. Ate my tag in 75 too, could not find a mid 80's buck there. Great area however . Either one is good for your objective. I was a resident back then, far easier to draw tags, but lots of misses too & got units not so great on 2 nd pick. Good Luck ! Jerry Gold-- Ft Collins, Colorado
