Elk unit 38

I have 8 elk preference points to burn in next year's draw.

I am leaning towards unit 38 in the Big Horn mountains. I have horses that I plan to use.

Looking for feedback/thoughts on this unit?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-08-17 AT 08:44PM (MST)[p]Just spent an entire day up in 38 last month looking it over in the Gator my buddy who lives in Sheridan has. There is plenty of good looking country up there and with horses to get away from the crowds that use the many roads and two tracks up in that unit you can probably have a good hunt during the September archery season if you bow hunt. However, if the weather hits early before the October rifle season starts on 10/15, it's my understanding that a lot of the animals work their way lower onto the private ranches and can make it rough finding animals.
