Antelope nonresident

looking for tips on what unit my brother and I should try to draw for buck antelope.

We have 3 points each and we are looking for a unit that we should draw that has ample public accessible land and antelope. This will be our first antelope hunt and planning to try and look over a lot of bucks for a couple days before taking one even if it's small.

Preferably an unit that I can pick up doe tags would be nice as well. We would be coming up from southern Utah.

The doe tags will be harder to draw than the Buck tag.

Look at Antelope draw odds, find units that could be drawn with 2 points last year. Circle those. Then go here.

Open interactive map and click on the units you circled. Units with * will have less public. All the information you could hope for to make your selection. From my perspective, every unit in Wyo will provide the opportunity to look over a lot of bucks and pick one you are happy with taking. Good luck!

It's been a few years, but I've hunted WY antelope several times as a NR, going into the draw with zero points. I can't say every time with 100% certainty, but we've been able to purchase doe tags after we got there.

But, if you're looking for areas that require points, you are likely looking for better trophy quality. Those areas could be different on doe tags than what I experienced.

If you're not familiar with it, study the terminology - LQ, Special Draw, Leftover, etc...

The links MC sent are a great place to start. Plus I think there are lots of antelope threads on the WY forum.

Thanks I will start looking through these.

I can draw a cow, doe antelope, buy gen bull and a deer tag if I want in Utah next year and probably a doe deer so no OTC antelope doe tag is not a deal beaker for me.
