I've talked with Dustin on the phone regarding his elk hunts. I got the impression he's an honest guy with a reputable operation. If anyone has hunted with him I would like your feedback. Thanks in advance.

I know Dustin through some interactions through the years of living in the area, and through the outfitter grapevine of knowledge. IMO he is an honest guy who provides a good hunt and has good guides that return to him year after year which says a lot about an outfitter. I have had nothing but good interactions with him and he is well respected around here unlike some outfitters. I dont think you would go wrong with him, but if i was after an outfitted wilderness elk only hunt, id be looking more north where the bulls can be quite a bit bigger...but you also get more of those bigger bears up there. If you want any info about other outfits, feel free to PM me, I guided for 5 years in the Teton WIlderness and have lived in the area for 8 now that i left guiding.

I'm curious where this wilderness elk hunt is, Snowy Range wilderness ? If so you'll find plenty of locals hunting in there.

Sorry was thinking of another outfit.
Talk with some references, both successful and not.

I hunted sheep with Dustin and can say from that experience he goes above and beyond for the entire hunt, camp, guides, food and effort are top notch!

I've hunted with Dustin and James Barnes and they are great. I highly recommend them. It was a few years ago, I think I was in unit 92. Great camp and great hunt. I plan to go back and hunt with them sometime in the next year or two or three. Some of the most beautiful country I've ever hunted.

A guy I bird hunt with has hunted with him 2 or 3 times, he raves about this outfitter. 100% sucessfull on elk and deer except for the one time he wounded a deer and it was not recovered.

I am about to secure a spot with Dustin. What other outfitter farther north should I consider? Your input is much appreciated.
