NR antelope draw odds question

LAST EDITED ON Feb-08-18 AT 01:37AM (MST)[p]Draw odds from last year show it took 9 points or more assuming your after a type 1. Don't think 7 points will be enough but who knows with the fee increase. You could draw one of the few random tags though.

If you want to hunt antelope in Wyoming in 2018 I would strongly suggest you find another unit that you'll be able to draw with your 7 PPs and go into your account and modify your choice from unit 57 to another unit. 57-1 took 10 PPs last year for a 100% draw and 9 PPs was only 10.34%. Unit 57-2 took 8 PPs for 100% draw and 7 PPs was only a 50% chance. Even in the Special higher priced draw you have little chance at a tag in 57-1, as it took 9 PPs for just a 47.06% chance at drawing. You could have a chance in 57-2 since it took 6 PPs for a 100% chance. Neither of those Random Draws had any tags and in the Regular Random Draw there were only 8 tags available with 433 first choice applicants, so chance are really slim there. IMHO the fee increase will not drop the PPs needed to draw that unit this year, other than possibly the high price 57-2 tag. Also, if you have already applied and want to change your choice to another unit you can only do that by staying within the price you have already paid. If you want to go from Regular to Special or Special to regular you would have to withdraw and start all over. That would mean they keep the money you initially paid and not refund it until after the draws are completed this summer.

>The short answer, Your odds are
>slim to none.

?So your saying there's a chance? I would apply and pick a good 2nd choice tag and hunt if ya want until ya get the points!!

>I have 7 points, looking to
>draw unit 57. What is
>my chance of getting drawn?
>
>Thanks!

9.5% chance of drawing...can draw with 9 It looks like in the special draw. Unit 48 is another unit that produces some big 80+ goats. You can draw in the regular draw with anything better than 6 points. Might be worth looking at or talking to another MMer who has hunted it.
