Another Wyoming poaching case

LAST EDITED ON Mar-12-18 AT 11:19AM (MST)[p]That's a bunch that will need to be watched because taking their privileges away may not stop them from hunting. I believe if I was the Judge in that case they would have been slapped with not only what they got, but also some hefty fines to be paid over a length of time and if found delinquent before all was paid off they'd be doing time. I'd almost bet that I know what ranch they trespassed on down in 48 and most don't realize that taking photos with a cell phone can pinpoint where the photos were taken. The season for bulls is 10/9-10/31, so even if they had tags they would have to have been shooting cows or they would have really been in deep dodo if they had a bunch of bulls on the ground. Good job for whomever turned them in and by the G&F on the followup, but IMHO a little lacking in the penalties from the Judge when it went to Court!

They did not have the privilege to trespass and kill 11 elk originally, but that did not stop them. Taking away their hunting privilege wont stop them either.

Nope, as it says right in the article that the loss of privileges was the best way to go in this case because they wouldn't be able to pay high fines. That's exactly why I said if I was the Judge they would have received a hefty fine or restitution that they could pay or work off on a monthly basis and if they didn't hold up their end of the deal they'd be behind bars for a while!
