Apply for Region A. That tag is good in unit 1 for either sex of mule deer or whitetail deer on private land, but only a buck of either species on public ground. The season starts on November 1 and they should be in the rut during at least part of the two week season.

Even if he doesn't have any points it was 83% in the regular draw with no points and all of the first choice applicants that didn't draw their tag there then drew it in the random draw with 400 tags still remaining for others to buy after that.

Some areas have type 3 whitetail tags and LQ or general tags.
In years past there were usually left over whitetail tags but they have been getting pretty scarce in the leftover draw.
I would apply first choice as a type 3 tag if that's the one you want.
With price increase this year I think not many leftovers will be available, many are burning PP and getting out of Wyo hunting.
Black Hills have general deer season in Nov. open to mule deer and whitetails.
