Any NR applying for Lope unit 61?

Any NR's out there that plan on applying for the regular draw in antelope unit 61 with max points?

Barring drawing a conflicting tag in another state I applied in, I would like to hunt WY this year. I have 10 points but that's not going to get me a 61 tag. If I can apply with someone with 12 points we will average 11 points that will get us a tag based on last years draw odds.

I have hunted elk in that unit and can offer information on antelope to the person I apply with (not that that is really needed in that unit), info on CO deer and elk, or we can work out something else.

Let me know if interested.

Good luck on that! I'd be very surprised if anyone with 12 max PPs would want to do that and risk not drawing just to let you use one of their PPs. There is always the risk of point creep each year and if it were me with 12 PPs I'd want to apply separately to be as assured of drawing that tag as possible.

My 118 hunt was not what I was hoping for. I was able to find some bulls during the archery season but never connected. Best I seen was a 310' type bull. I found that all the bulls I seen were white horned (I never found a tree in the unit) and rather thin horned. Those are 2 characteristics that I don't really care for. I came back for the final days of the rifle hunt (had a NM elk tag during the opening) and never seen an elk in the areas I found them during archery.

2011, the year I hunted elk, was a drought year. I heard after the fact that elk may have moved into other units due to the lack of water. I don't know if that was true or not.

One of the reason I want to hunt lope there is so I can see if there are better elk around and if I just drew on a bad year.
