Lander Whitetails

I've got a whitetail tag good for units 160, 92, and 94 around Lander. Lots of private land surrounding the river bottoms so I'm going to be constantly on OnXmaps. Would anyone be willing to point me to an area I should concentrate on? Or does anyone know a friendly private land owner that wouldn't mind me hanging out in his fields? Just asking. I appreciate any tips or advice. Thanks!

The local biologists used to have a list of land owners. Not sure if they still give them out. It's often pretty hard to find deer off the private ground. Some land owners will let you on for a fee. I'd call the biologist first and see what you can find out.
Sometimes their fees are reasonable.

Finding land around Lander to hunt whitetails on is an extremely difficult proposition. Most of the land owners will give you an outright ?NO?, and the few that will charge a trespass fee are very proud of their deer. Large amounts of the land has been leased by outfitters in the area. Also, lots of Indian reservation land in the area, so be very careful.

Good call, hunt30. Thanks for the heads-up! I've reached out to a few landowners and got a couple to say "maybe". We'll see. I've marked a few tracks of public land to check out, but I imagine most whitetails are on private in the area. Thanks again!

99% of the whitetails will be on the riverbottoms and the adjacent fields. I would focus on trying to get access to those areas. Best of luck.
