Headed to Montana

My wife has a business trip to Bozeman and we decided to make a family trip out of it. My kids are set on catching some big fish but I don't know where to start. They are younger (4, 7, and 9) but love fishing and have done it pretty often here in New Mexico. Any help would be appreciated also any other recommendations on things to do in Bozeman. We are going to hit Yellowstone on the way back home. Thanks guys. PM me if you prefer.

Used to live in Bozeman. There are a lot of fishing opportunities close to Bozeman. The Gallatin River is good to fish. The Madison also is good. There are also some big ponds right next to the mall that have fish in them. ( don't know if that's your style fishing with kids) . There are also some smaller streams ( can't remember the names right off) . Call one or two of the fly shops in town right before you go on your trip and ask them what they would recommend fishing conditions etc. Go to museum of the Rockies in Bozeman it's really neat. Lots of exhibits including old west, lots of dinosaur and a huge collection of T. rex Skulls and bones. Well worth seeing.
There is a real cool play ground that is dinosaur themed for kids. Super cool for them to get out some energy. On the west side of Bozeman . (Free to use tthe playground) Hope that helps you out.

Hyalite is very scenic & close and good for small cutthroats (8-14"). Helps if you have a boat or kayak to troll. There's some cool waterfalls with short hikes (Palisades) for the kids. Gets a little crowded on the weekends
