Well, for everyone that thought MT was going to be left holding the bag with a bunch of leftover NR licenses, they are all sold out.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-24-11 AT 08:33PM (MST)[p]Imagine that....if you didnt see this coming you had your head in the sand,MT just raked in a record amount of income from the changes brought forth by I161 and all you who were yelling about MT making this change, talking ##### about how we just cut our own throats, about how nobody would buy the tags and we wouldnt have enough money to run our programs...where are you now?(probably watching the mailbox for your MT deer/elk combo tags like the crybaby, tightwad hypocrites you are)

It is,unfortunately there are plenty of ##### talkers on here that dont agree.

Enter one of the ##### talkers, what were you saying about I161 not too long ago?Or are you still busy trying to track down the left over tags for a drawing that wont occur for another couple months?Let me refresh your memory,it went a little something like..."But I see Montana elk tags becoming worthless","I don't think you will see very many leftover permits sold anyway. ","I bet they have a hard time selling those last 2000 tags. I don't think people will be rushing in to drop $1000.",and after all the ##### talking you did you come back to prove what a hypocrite you are,PRICELESS!

Take your sunglasses off and take a look in the mirror.

Hypocrite? Your are one to talk. How many times did you tell us that I161 was to stop "fly by the night outfitters" and open up more private land? Then when you figured out that that wasn't going to happen it was I161 was all about revenue.

I'm going to follow someone's advise on here. And "never argue with an idiot, they just drag you down to there level and beat you with expierence."

Have fun hunting all that extra private land I161 opened up for you.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-26-11 AT 06:38PM (MST)[p]We have 6 new spreads in block management in Lewis and Clark county alone,I cant even guess how many statewide.Renewals for outfitter licenses this year are the lowest ever.MT took in more money on NR tags than we ever have.I 161 did everything it was designed to do,and none of the BS you were predicting happened, are you really this clueless or are you just trolling? You should take their advice to heart,it might save you from making yourself look like a complete moron every time you post!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-26-11 AT 09:55PM (MST)[p]Who cares the simple fact you went from 60% draw to not even selling enough tags to have a draw and having a surplus of tags was embarrasment enough. Maybe now that combo tags in Montana are over the counter, all the rich Huey Lewis types will just lease up all the private land knowing they can hunt there every year. lol, then you'll have to drastically lower the price of the tags to stick it to landowners again...lol Your a funny guy.

WTF are you talking abut?We sold more tags this year then we ever have...The huey dip sh it lewis types already bought up the land, they dont have to lease anything.

As a non-resident having to pay more wasn't a big problem. That's not because I can easily afford it, but because I'm pushing 60 and I realize I may only have another handful of hunts left; I have no choice, I can't afford NOT to go. I'm actually more worried about the price of gas, and all the other expenses of the trip (even though Government inflation numbers are at 2%, everything is costing 20% more). Used to be, I would try to head up North for an archery elk hunt in mid September, rifle elk opening week in late October, then go back for a late deer hunt around the end of the season. I almost always got to go on two out of the three. It was usually schedule (i.e., work) that kept me from doing all three. Now, I may only do two trips due to financial cost. So, not too much serious impact yet. I may retire soon, then I may have to cut down to one trip; I'm thinking leave in early September and return at the end of November.

As a NR, Montana was a absolute bargain before the increase and now they are more in-line with other states in term of fees. So, to the point of this thread, congratulations to MT game and fish for nailing the supply-demand equation...........good for them and I am quite sure they will spend the money wisely. I think many of the initial threads were a normal reaction to paying more, heck we are all paying more across the board, gas, food, etc. I can afford the increases and may return to MT in the near future, but the increase does hurt the average joe who is scrapping by and works his tail off to squeeze in a elk/deer hunt once a year.

NONYAMT, you should chill with the hate man, seems like every one of your posts I come across is full of anger and hate..........I'm sure you are a good dude just like my other Montana buddies, but man your posts are terribly negative.

NONYA doesn't think all his posts are negative. Or maybe he just doesn't think in general. And yeah, most of us Montanans are pretty good people. mtmuley

Although I am 100% in favor of what went down...the jury is still out. I am guessing there will be an unusually large amount of hunters that turn in their tags for refunds after the limited entry draws...hopefully there are enough on the list to absorb them?

Thats the problem with the net forums, you never really know who you are dealing with do you?
