Just a heads up, two friends of mine were charged by a grizzly this week in the Gravelly Range. They shot and killed the bear and after investigation were cleared by Montana F & G. Apparently they saw 6 grizzlies total and F & G is going to post the area. Anyone hunting down there needs bear spray and a gun on their side.

Hunt that country often. Know the FWP have been pushing the use of bear proof containers for awhile. When we have seen bears it's always been on the southern end. The thought of bears will being in the dark timber really puts your senses on high alert. Would be nice if we could start to hunt them.

Heading down that way. Should be hunting on tuesday or wednesday. Any help on a link to the incident?? We are mainly looking at the northern end of the gravelys. Hope to avoid the bears. I hope. I hope. dcl
