Great opening weekend,limited both days.We took pintails,mallards,gadwalls,a pile of teal and a couple spoons.

Nice weekend...You beat me and my dad, We got six woodies and that was it. Where you hunting out of? I would love to get that variety of birds in a single weekend.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-03-11 AT 00:54AM (MST)[p]Pretty sure thats Freezeout you are at. only the second time out of 20 years I have not made opening day. I have had fantasitc and absolute crap opening days. Record high temps this year and I could just not justify burning my time off.

Near Freezout,I hunt a small pothole just off the refuge.Bird numbers are very good this year,cant wait for the migration!

Amen, I am further east but there are birds around so far we have gotten specks, canada geese, BWT, widgeon, mallards, woodies and pintails.

Keep after them, it will only get better.

I was really plaesed with the number of pintails we got into this early,one of my favorite eaters and by far the best looking bird(IMO).Going to jump shoot the ditches on the Grandparents place tonight,love this time of year!

With regards to the population of birds guys here is the website to read. The ducks are extremly numerous this year. an 11% increase from last year http://www.flyways.us/status-of-waterfowl Find the horn Goose!

She is one happy dog,she doesnt like the off season any more than I do.
