A damn fine day

I had, I believe, the perfect day. Watched the sun rise over the mountains in a high meadow, while I sat quietly listening for elk. After an hour, I gave 4-5 cow calls and about 20 seconds later shot my first elk with a bow, a 5pt that I couldn't be happier with. Then had the pleasure of my incredible wife bringing my 5 yr old and 3 mo. old sons out to hike in/out on my second load. Yup, was very much the perfect day in this dudes eyes.

Congrats!!! The first kill with your bow will NEVER be forgotten!

Post some pics! If you need help, let me know...

Congrat's its always nice to get your first elk. As you know the hunts are most always never that quickly ended. To be able to enjoy that experience and have the lasting memories of your family along for the packout adventure is truely what its all about. Thanks for sharing and the Pics.
