Nice mixed bag.

I got tired of shooting nothing but greenheads an instead decided to start chasing geese hard.

have had a couple of mixed bag hunts

Ive got my possesion limit of geese in the deep freeze,cant kill anymore until I get some jerky made!Its the only way I can eat them,spiced up in jerky stix.Ducks get eaten before they hit the freezer,makes all the difference in taste to me.We have 3 bands this year and some of the best mixed bags Ive seen,the Federal duck predictions were right on the money this year,its been outstanding.

My smoker has been running none stop and between my kid and I, we have been supplying alot of jerky to the area.

I have cleaned out the freezer this week and will be back at.

I can a bunch of venison every year but decided to try canning goose, turned out just the same. Cannot tell the difference from one to the other. My extended family always wants canned venison and this year I am not going to tell them that it is actually goose.

Duck is on the menu tonight at the house. People who say they hate waterfowl just don't know how to cook it.

OR they have eaten too much coot!Ive never eaten canned waterfowl of any kind,hows it taste?Hope your mounting that "piebald" goose thats a cool lookin bird!

It tastes just like canned venison. I was afraid it would be liver in a jar but it turned out great.

That goose is at the taxidermist right now.
