just heard on the radio this am that thousands of whitetail have died due to a bug called midge that causes blue tonge any truth to that radio announcement. hunted orofino id this past fall and numbers seem to be way down from 2010

Eastern MT had it go through earlier in the year, but we haven't had anything going on here in Western MT.

If the numbers were down in Orofino, its because of the wolves and lions, not blue tongue. Blue tongue, for some reason, seems to only hit the deer east of the divide.

I spent a lot of time bird hunting in Eastern MT. Most all good WT habitat and country. Usually WT's are common. this past Fall more carcasses then live deer. I'm going to say down 75%.
