with the season going on I was wondering how the deer numbers looking. I will be heading out there middle of Nov. It's be afew years sence I've hunted out there.

just FYI 622 shuts down Mule Deer hunting on the CMR on Nov. 11th so you will be limited to surrounding BLM lands.

The deer numbers are still down since the bad winter of 2010-11.

Dont know how things are in 622, I hunted South of Fort Peck last year (mid nov)where the CMR is open through the season. I suspect the 10-11 winter kill was the similar on both sides of the reservior though. After last years season, I would not want to have to be limited to land outside the CMR mid november... End of November could be a different story.

we're going from the 14th to 21st. the last few times we hunted out there we end up shooting off the CMR, so we thought we might try i9t a little later and hunt block man or other areas. Hoping the bucks will be in rut more.

For what its worth. I was on the south side of Peck this past weekend backpacking 3 nights into differnt areas scouting for an upcoming family members elk hunt.
I was not there last year at all but spent alot of time there years prior to the hard winter.
What I saw this weekend. Saw some deer but not many. Saw approx dozen deer.

spent a week from sippery ann to fourchette bay riding and scouting for my son cow tag,, never got on a cow, seen at least 1 20 inch 4 pt buck every day,

son shot his first mule deer buck yesterday in a hell hole,, his words, 23 in wide 3x4, couldnt get the mules in to the nasty drainage ,, ended up cuting buck in half and I carried the buck out about a mile than rolled him down a steep ridge to the truck,
we put on a lot of miles on 2 legs and 4 legs, seen lots of peple with kids, didnt see anyone out of a truck though
