will I lose bonus points

I am nonresident with 10 points for desert bighorn. I applied for DBS this year, but I requested refund because I can't really justify buying license just to earn points. I did not apply last year, so I wonder if I lose points this year? Will they give me benefit of having DBS points, in 2015 draw, even if I am not earning points? I could not find firm answer for either of these questions in the application book.

We don't have desert bighorn in Montana. Montana also doesn't have a system that allows you to buy points only, for any species. mtmuley

I'm not sure what you mean by requesting a refund, you don't get charged the license fee if you don't draw . unless you mean you withdrew your application.

Since MT is a bonus point and not a preference point missing a year or two isn't the end of the world. just remeber if you miss 3 years in a row you your points go back to zero.

With points being squared in both MT and NV...missing years is a big deal.

Check the draw results by point pools and you'll see the impact of skipping years.

Ooops, yes I meant to post this to Nevada forum. I already lost my moose, sheep, and goat points in Montana after they raised fees required to keep bonus points.

Obviously skipping a year hurts, but not with bonus points as much as preference points.

1 preference point can mean the difference of a sure thing and being out of the point poll drawing altogether.
