Has anyone hunted with this outfit? I will be going on my first guided hunt (a gift from my wife) and wanted to get some feedback on this outfitter. Has anyone hunted with them? The new owner is Travis Anderson. If anyone has any info or pro's or cons to spending $4500 to hunt with them, please let me know. Thanks...to me, I'm not a guided hunt kind of guy but my wife sprung for it to make me happy so I am doing it with a smile on. :) I have no idea what to expect and I will let the outfitter know that I don't want a "there's one...shoot him" type of hunt. I want to earn it and not kill a buck that they've been keeping an eye on for the past month and a half, you know? I want a hunt, not a go shoot one they have tied up.

How is southeastern Montana for mule deer? I think the ranches this outfit has is just out of Broadus. Thanks for the help, guys.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-28-15 AT 06:44PM (MST)[p]Soooo.. You stuck on this outfitter? Second thread you mentioned them. Lots of good ones in Montana. And if you want to earn it, you can come up here without a guide. mtmuley

Not stuck on them, mt...just doing as much research as I can. I already mentioned to my wife that I could put together 2-4 really good hunts with the $$ it costs to go through an outfitter but she insists that she do this for me. She doesn't really get it...I don't want o hurt her feelings either. :) We have a friend that has hunted with PR a couple of times but he is a bit of a lazy hunter so his info is on his level, not mine in regards to what I want for the hunt. I'm keeping all options over. I did check into the outfitter you mentioned and they are all booked for mule deer in 2016.

I Don't know about the new owners but the ranches were hunted hard under the old. There are likely better ranches and if you have any hunting ability you can have several good hunts DIY for the price of an outfitted hunt. What quality of deer are you looking for.

I've not hunted with them however I or my friends have hunted with the following outfitters and all of us had good hunts.

Your wife could "gift" me a Cabelas or Scheels gift card and you can come hunt with me. I guarantee it will be fun and I'll even not tie one to a tree for you, nor will I tell you to shoot one.

Plus I can almost Guarantee a cow elk to boot.

Joking aside, send me an email with what current situation you are in with this place. I'd be glad to help. Montana is the last state you need an outfitter for help with a deer tag to fill.
