Bow hunting the Prison ranch

Anyone hunt over in Deer Lodge on the Montana State Prison ranch?

Ive never done it personally but my family has. it is a very difficult hunt. A lot of wide open land that makes it hard to get close.

Hunting is about the journey, not the outcome.

I have hunted there 5 times now. Yes it is a very difficult spot/stalk/ambush type scenario for the most part. It is mostly wide open fields and rolling coulees with a few timbered areas. I hung a stand in a promising locale and have hunted from it a few times during the morning and evenings. I can see prisoners milling around from my stand! There are some nice bucks here, but wise they are. You can spot them bedding in the off limits field right next to the razor wire.
