Howdy, My buddy drew a moose tag in Unit 100 and we are starting to hunt on 9/27. We have great intel on areas to look, talked to a great biologist, past hunters, and google earthed the unit. We are in good shape and should be able to find moose. He also says that he isn't trophy hunting just wants a bull and will probably shoot the first decent animal seen.

The dilemma is that he is an old SOB and I am not far behind him and packing out a bull is frightening me, plus the weather is looking warm for the next couple of weeks. We are looking for a couple of young guys (I guess young is a relative term, I mean strong!) that could help pack when the tag is filled, a few hundred bucks paid out. If anyone lives in the NW part of the state and would be obliged to do this or you know someone that lives in that area that would want to jump in, please just give them my cell number. Obviously, it would be an "on-call" job. I won't be able to check this site for the next few days due to another hunt. Please just call my cell or pass it on, thanks, I appreciate it. My name is Pat and my cell is 530-632-2091. Thank you in advance!

No problem, we got it done, thanks anyway. He shot a bull on the third day and we had a blast. He was true to his word and took the first bull seen, he was more interested in the meat and it has been very good! Took him 2 miles from a road and it took us all day to pack him out, 6 trips total. Hunted near Yaak, pretty area and it was good to spend time with my old friend, he moved to another state and we don't get to see each other that often. Saw tons or grouse and whitetails but no elk, it seems that the wolves have moved in there. A girl at the bar said they saw 5 off the road and had pictures and video to prove it, one guy that we talked to saw 3 in another area, and talked to a couple of other guys that have taken wolves in that area.....
