Island park 424" bull

LAST EDITED ON Sep-23-15 AT 10:10AM (MST)[p]Been waiting for this to pop up on MM.
I haven't seen it in person but I've seen a couple pictures of it and its a damn nice bull. Congrats to the hunter!

The story I got is all from guys that know a guy that know a guy that knows his brothers dogs cat kinda deal. I'm not going say everything I've heard because it could be totally wrong. I will say from from the story I got is that it's his first elk, he had dumb luck on his side, and it could have happened to anyone of us. And like I said before that could be wrong. The bull is a 6x7, wide and awesome main beams (over 60")! Wish I could post the pics I got and tell the story I was told but out of respect to the guy I'm not going to. Sorry. I hope he comes out with it at some point because I would like to know for sure myself.

I haven't heard the story or seen a pic, but I'll bet money, if this mystery bull does exist, that it doesn't go 424"

The pics I got aren't the best. But I'm gonna say he's up there in score. From what I heard the guy that scored it knows what he's doing, and I'm ASSUMING that the 424" is gross score. A official Net score could drop him under 400" and I'm just guessing on that and don't want to add to the rumors. As far as posting the pics, not going to do it. Really sorry. Rather have you guys pissed at me for not posting pics than him pissed for posting them. Hope you all can understand.

The hunter is a good friend of mine whom I speak with on a daily basis. I will say this, it's not a fairy tale. It's a dream come true for a hard working Idaho farmer. Other guys have put tape to the bull to satisfy their own curiosity and that's about where it stands for now. The numbers mentioned aren't far from what the tape has said. It's a hell of a bull and couldn't have happened to a better guy.

Could have happened to me instead! Haha, seriously, if you talk to the guy daily, find out if he minds you posting a pic.

That is a huge bull, congrats to the hunter

I heard rumor of a new world record 425 elk but it was in unit 54 archery. Lots of speculation on a broken tine and a shady taxidermist making a new tine to fit and then I saw where the hunter and some guy found the broken tine 3 miles away from the kill site in less than an hour. I say impossible to find an antler on millions of acres in an hour just by randomly walking around.

Hey idahoguy, do you personally know these guys and what their about or did you hear some rumors and think that it has to be true? Just asking.

Two 400" bulls out of ID! Congrats to both hunters!!
