Idaho Archery Elk Hunts

Hello everyone! I unfortunately put in for a Wyoming Type 9 Archery tag and didn't draw for the 2nd straight year. It's been a long few years since I've got to hear Bulls bugle and I'm anxious to go somewhere else for the first time. Does anyone have any advice on great units to archery hunt in Idaho? I have a co-worker who rifle hunted Tex Creek Zone last year but has never archery hunted. I also was looking into 66A and a few other units. I'm open to go to any unit to find a nice bull. I know it's a long shot asking for advice, but I would just like to get the opportunity to go elk hunting again this year. Thanks in advance for any help it will be greatly appreciated!

wvbowhunter88c have you looked at the odds on the fish and game website? I think unit 66a had like 19% success rate and 76 was around 23%. I will tell you that there is a lot of bow hunters in that area I think the farther you go north the better off you are as far as hunting pressure but I have heard there are more wolves the further north you go, but between those two units there is around 1800 tags, roughly 16000 days hunted and 390 elk killed. the odds are stacked against a hunter in those two areas. now I will tell you that if you could draw the rifle tag in those areas you have a good chance of killing a 300 plus bull, I drew that tag last year and was able to kill one and seen plenty of others. but there is not near the pressure during the rifle hunt. I also think it has taken a toll in the elk because the are not rutting as hard in September anymore and I do not know if that is directly related to hunting pressure or weather? but they did not start fully rutting until October that I have seen. when I killed my bull he had 40 cows and what rutting hard. that was October 18. sorry for the long post pm if you would like if I can help you out I would be more than happy to share any info I have.
