I am putting in for moose and was just wondering if anybody has any info, this is the first year I am going to be putting in and I know the odds are in the low teens to draw. just wondering if anybody has drawn moose and has any info they would want to share of there experience. I live in southern Idaho and I know unit 77 and 78 really well, but I am not scared to try new areas. just trying to decide what unit I should put in for, thanks in advance.

There are B&C moose in every unit in SE Idaho. The key to finding one is the number of days you can spend in the field looking for one. If you already feel comfortable in 76-78, then I would stay there and give it hell all season long. I'm more comfortable recommending 64, 65, 66, 67, 69 here around Idaho Falls, just because it is where I spend all of my time. I would hunt Sept. 25th thru Oct. 10th every day. Your chance of catching a rutting bull are really good then, and try again the last week of Oct. for a secondary rut. Deer and elk hunters on the general season are a great resource of info, and I never pass one without visiting. and asking questions.

Good luck in the draw.
