wanted to bring my son on his first bear hunt. he's killed elk, hogs whitetails etc. doesn't get out of school till late may so it wold be a june hunt. which otc areas are good in idaho. will roads be ok in june in high elevations. do we need a 4 wheeler or are the roads gated off. never hunted idaho but was thinking maybe unit 1 or 4. have no idea where to go . he is excited so i would like to at least let him sees bear. thanks for any comments preston gray

1 and four are both good. Been pretty warm so snow won't be an issue most areas. There are lots of logging roads. One has more bears, but 4 you can bait. Both are pretty thick. Unit four had a good chunk burn last year, so spotting will be better this year than previously.
