Hey guys a friend of mine drew this tag and I was hoping to hook them up with someone who may have some info to help them out. They hunt in CO, ID, OR, UT,NV and CA depending on tags drawn so they have lots of info they would be willing to share.

This hunt is on units 71,72,73,73a and 74 I believe. Any help would be awesome. PM would be great.

Thanks

Bill

It is limited elk hunt #2043, Bannock. It includes unit #'s 71,72,73,73A&74. Big area. Just general starting points would be a huge help.

With hunt dates of Oct 1 to the 14th it should be a good hunt. Especially the first day or two. The Bulls should still be hot after the cows. 25 hunters looks good too. Having never hunted this hunt I can't give and advice other then what the numbers speak to. Out of the 25 hunters last year there were 13 Bulls killed. So not a slam dunk of a hunt. Then we have the A tag results that show us unit by unit numbers. Unit 72 leads the pack with 95 harvested. Then 74 with 63, 71 with 53, 73 with 34, 70 with 23, and 73A with 18. Then dig deeper and see that 73A only had 18 harvested but 13 of them were Bulls and 80% were 6 point or better. Unit 72 only had 21 of the 95 elk harvested were Bulls and only 25% of them were 6 point. But 73A has more private. Looks like the elk are scattered through all the units. Lots of private to work around but plenty of public land to hunt on.

Maybe someone that knows the area will chime in for you.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
