67 Deer Populations

How are the deer populations doing in 67 now days? I know back in 07/08 there was a hard winter that took its toll on the herds. I'm going to be hunting that unit this year on the general rifle, but haven't been in that area too much. I do plan on making a scouting trip or two before October. I would like to get up in the high basins and put some miles on my boots or even take my horses up but im not too sure about water up there and how the trails are. Any pointers on what to expect or where to start would be great. Thanks in advance!

I hunted it in 10/13 & 10/14. I wasn't impressed as it lacked animals, has a low density of muleys. I spent two weeks each year and covered a lot of appealing country. If you want a billy goat this would be a good unit. I only hunted this unit for two years before moving on to a unit with a lot higher densities of muleys with mature bucks. You won't have any country to yourself as it was getting heavily horse hunted. Pretty country though. Good luck! Check out some of the units close by.

I hunted it last year. not many deer. been out doing some scouting for a friend with a goat tag in 67 and haven't seen much up high either. i'm not optimistic unless we get a some early snow this year.
