I been looking through the regulations, looking for a answer to my question,
haven't found it. I had drawn a controlled hunt last year, couldn't put in this year. Does that also apply to left over tags? Makes sense if it does. Thanks Mike

There are "no rules" for the 2nd drawing.

If you drew an antlered only tag last year and had to sit out the first round, you can apply in the 2nd round.

Also, if you draw an antlered only tag in the second drawing, you are still eligible to apply for the 1st round next year.

chasemike,

How did you do in 40 last year? Not looking for anything too specific, just curious at the overall quality of deer/bucks you saw etc.

Are you sure this information is correct? In the regs it just says "a person who was drawn in an antlered only controlled hunt may not apply for any other antlered only controlled hunt for one year, except for the second application period and leftover controlled hunt drawings or sales" I paraphrased a little because the regs get a little wordy and use deer in the paragraph then make a later note that the waiting period also applies to elk but the gist of it is there.
So I guess I am wondering if you got other info from IDFG?

Chasemike I know you are good, I'm referring to the guy who said that if you draw in the second draw, that the waiting period doesn't apply to 1st draw the following year

Yes I'm sure.

I have 40 late. My dad has drawn it before so I've just been planning on going by what he has said as far as area. But if you have anything different that would be sweet! Thanks

Does anyone know of someone that has actually drawn a second draw tag?? I have always heard of a friend of a friend drawing them but never known someone that has

I have drawn 2 high demand elk and antelope tags, and an extra doe WT tag in about 5 years of applying.

I drew 2 second tags in the same year. Unit 67 late buck tag and unit 50 bull tag. The lady at IDFG said I don't know if this is for real, but you better come get them now! That was a real fun hunting season.
