The wallow I usually hunt was not active I think because there was a wolf kill right next to it. So I sat the meadow right next to it. Right at last light two bulls came out and I shot the closer one at 45 yards. In the pitch black I could hear the other bull barking at his friend to get up. I cut and deboned for three hours and I swear I heard a wolf bark at me! The bull fell 50 yards away from last years bull!

The shot was a little back but it clipped the lung and destroyed the liver. He layed down about 10 seconds after the shot all within view. But then it got dark so I waited for 30 min and when I went to check I heard him cough. So I layed down and watched the stars for two hours and when I checked again he was done.

Good job Man!!! now I want to find what he was hunting for Cows !!! come 10/5. if you don't mind me asking what unit are they from?

Nice job! So how old was the kill and how far did you sit? Just wondering as I have a similar issue on a wallow I went to hang a stand and camera yesterday. The carcass is a couple hundred yards away, but still has lots of birds on it only looked a day or two old with only one hind quarter missing.

Congrats! I like the tyvek idea. I use it as a ground cloth but think I'll start carrying a piece of it in my pack. Could double as some extra survival gear as well.

The wolf kill looked about 2 months old, the antlers were short and still in velvet. The wallow is on the edge of the meadow. I think the large bulls are smart enough to stay away.

Tyvek is a great place to hide when the weather turns nasty. I have used it many times for that. It's also machine washable and it gets more supple and quiet with every wash.

I have been looking for some Tyvek don't want too buy a $165 roll I found another product that is extremely light & very durable its called Polycryo its a heavy duty plastic ground tarp only weighs around 3 oz for the large which is 6' x 8' for around $9.00 thru Gossamer gear
