Hey everyone this is my first post to this site, but I have been "creeping" on here for a few years now. Im a Californian with a desire to learn some new areas out of state and widen my chances of getting that "dream buck". I've been doing some serious back pack hunting for a few years now here in California and wouldn't mind a change of scenery.

With that said, I'm wondering if I could get some feedback on how the deer herd is looking over in this zone?

Me and my dad are planning a trip to hunt in unit 50, this will be our first hunt in Idaho. We plan on base camping out at the Iron Bog campground, and doing some hunting out of our packs close by. I'm wondering if I can get some feedback on the camp ground and what to expect of it, if anyone has camped there. We are leaving home the 14th and will be departing Idaho the 22nd. Should we be prepared for snow during this time span?

I'm not expecting a monster buck, just trying to have a good hunt with my dad and hopefully each of puts down a mature buck.

If anyone has some info they would like to share as far as what to expect, such as deer numbers and etc that would be awesome.. I've talked to a couple guys already about the area I have been looking at, it seems that we are definitely going to have to work hard for a decent buck, which we are used to.

Goodluck to everyone this season. I hope to post up a good story about how our hunt went!

Awesome! I hunted Montana a few years back and spent a few hundred $ on some insulated pac boots so my feet wouldn't turn into ice and I haven't really had the chance to use them a whole lot since then..

Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it!
