Elk City Zone Help

Hi guys. Hope everybody is having a good archery season. I just moved to Lewiston from Indiana during the first part of August and am getting settled into the area. I went to the ID Fish and Game Dept to ask about which units I should consider buying an archery tag for this year, and the gentleman directed towards the Elk City Zone. I spent 5 days up in Zone 15 around Elk City and never heard or saw any Elk. I humped back in the Gospel Hump Wilderness about 5 or 6 miles and never heard anything back in there either. I went in blind, but all in all, I did enjoy the country and the hunt (my first ever solo hunt in the mountains). Taking a chance that 1. somebody is familiar with this zone 2. and willing to help I would appreciate it! I am going to hunt the last 3 days of the archery season and then consider hunting the muzzleloader and late archery to try and discover the country for myself. It's huge, and I'd be grateful for a little help. Thanks.
