Best Muzzy Setup for Idaho?

I'd love to hunt with a muzzy in Idaho but I know they have some pretty stiff restrictions. In your opinion, what is the best setup? Gun, powder, bullet, etc?

Thanks!

Always good to have someone joining the ranks. Welcome. I've never felt that Idaho's regulations are stiff or that I've been limited since they gave up forcing us to use only round balls on traditional hunts.
I would have to side with IdahoRon, that I think that Knight probably makes the better quality rifles, of the more modern type that we can use here in Idaho. Personally, I kind of like the old styles a little more, surprised IdahoRon didn't mention those as I know he has a fine collection of Renegades and traditional styles. An old Thompson Renegade or Hawkens with a fast twist barrel can't be beat. I have went on places like GunBroker and bought Thompson Renegade's or Hawkens and then bought the replacement, fast twist barrel. If you are interested in that, I might know a place you could get a barrel. They are becoming very difficult to find.
The bullet. The heavier the better to an extent. Not a lot of choices for us in Idaho. Over the counter, the Hornady Great Plains is probably your best option. Best online is the No Excuses. In a 50 caliber you can get the 460 grain or 495. I shoot the 495 grain. You really get into it, you might want to pour your own.
The powder, read about all of it. This you will want to experiment with and see what you like. Triple 7 in 2F or 3F, Pyrodex in 2F or P, or black powder. Would be happy to answer any questions you may have and I know others would be to.
Good Luck

PS: Oh, I just noticed Ron did show his traditional's to you in the ML forum. I suppose if you were really, REALLY, interested in a traditional with a fast twist, PM me. I've got way too many, but I do have a couple I haven't shot yet.

Huge thanks Oldbear. I ended up buying a Knight Ultra Light. I'm extremely excited to start playing around with it!

I was curious how you go about determining which powder is better? I guess I understand how to do it, just curious if anyone knows for a modern TC 50 cal? I am using Pyrodex P. It is fairly accurate to 100 yards but does seem to climb after a shot a little. I know my bro in laws Hawken's drives tacks every time without much variance? Any help on what I can do to get mine to do the same?
Thanks, Looking forward to my cow hunt in a couple weeks and the deer hunt in November with it.
