Took my 10 year old on his first trip with a tag in his pocket in 76 last weekend. Got him a decent 15" wide 3x4, pretty nice for his first buck (pics coming soon). Other than that, hunted for 6 days and I only had a shot a 1 other buck that I missed.

Wondering how pressured is this unit on the 2nd weekend (I know elk hunters are out). We saw lots of deer, but not many bucks. Will probably have him with me again, so can't exactly hike to the top of the mountain.

We were a few miles North of Montpelier Reservoir. I don't have much time this weekend to try again, maybe 1 evening and 1 morning.

I would expect as many if not more hunters the second weekend, especially with the snow. everybody is thinking the same thing the deer will be moving because of the weather.

Yeah, I was thinking that. I was also thinking a lot of the Californians would be gone, and Utah rifle deer starts this weekend, so that may eliminate a lot of non-residents (like myself).

Wondering what people in the area actually see up there in regards to traffic on the second weekend.

Like I said, I got the boy his deer, and that was the important one, would like to notch my tag though if possible.
