Any success in unit 40?

I'd like to see your pics of unit 40 bucks. I check every year for pics but very seldom see any. My son and I drew partner tags a few years back and it is one of my favorite memories. My son, 15 at the time, took his first nice buck

LAST EDITED ON Dec-23-16 AT 12:07PM (MST)[p]Spent I think 9 days out there. Didn't really see anything big at all. Saw a few big tracks. Buddy shot an average 4 pt, and my dad and I shot 3's that we both wish we waited on. I passed on like 9 bucks then randomly shot a small one and have no idea why. Was pretty mad at self for shooting for quite awhile, but a deer is a deer so don't want to disrespect him so I got over it.

Needed snow, got none it was 60-68 degrees out there every day

It just doesn't seem like any big bucks are coming out of unit 40 even when it gets weather, the 2 point general hunt must really hurt this unit.

Some real hawgs came out of the archery hunt last year and I saw pics of literally groups of hawgs during their scouting, so if people aren't killing them it's not because they don't exist.

You guys seeing any decent elk heard's in that unit? I'm looking at taking some Disabled Veterans out there for an elk hunt 2017. Any info would help I'm in Nevada and plan on coming out and scouting and getting camps set up for these veterans before they get here so they have shot opportunities.

Saw two monster bulls (biggest I've ever seen in person) during the late season rifle draw. Only two elk we saw.

We see some rather large bucks in groups when scouting for Antelope in early August.

There were only 5 bucks killed in the archery CH last year. I helped with one of them and it wasn't an easy hunt.

I drew the late 40 hunt this year. So far the only area I have heard people mention is South Mountain. What other area's should a person check out??
