I was wanting to go shed hunting with my dad. We have never been before. I was looking at the map and wanted to try on the desert out out from Rexburg or St. Anthony. ( I know this area doesn't open for human entry until May 1st) Is this a good location to begin with? Don't want any specific locations just a starting point to begin and maybe find a couple of sheds. You can pm if you want. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about your area , but I'd pick a spot that holds a lot of deer throughout the winter and concentrate your efforts there . I know it's a generic answer, but I can't offer better advice on an unfamiliar area . Good luck

Yes that desert that is closed is a good area for elk sheds, I have not been in there for sheds for a few years but the guys with horses usually get alot.
Check for ticks when you get done
