Guys
Looking to see if anyone knows of some landowners in the lower part of the state that may have some tags. Nothing illegal- I know the negative comments will follow. Please pm or respond. Maybe even landowners that have some extra tags that we can claim. For my young kids only not myself, I have had some awesome tags that past few years and just want to focus on them only.

There's tons of otc opportunity across the state. Are you hoping for a controlled hunt landowner tag or what.

The landowner appreciation program tags (LAP) are given to landowners in controlled hunt areas who have enough acreage of good big game habitat to qualify. They either sell them which technically is illegal or they keep them for themselves or give them to their own kids. You would have better luck buying and OTC tag and finding a landowner that would let you hunt on his property or hunting an access yes property.

Most of the units have over the counter tags for deer. In most Southern Idaho General season, the season opens October 10th and closes either October 24th or 31st.
I'm sorry but you have close to zero chance of a landowner gifting you tags for any of the controlled hunts. However, you could buy general season deer tags and take your kids hunting. Southern Idaho general season is not an easy hunt to get your kids deer. Doe hunts where shut down for kids in many areas because of the hard winter.
You have a reasonable chance of putting your kids on a buck or two if you know how to hunt mule deer and you and your kids are willing/able to hike.

You could try doing getting into some of the landowner permission required hunts but I'm guessing most of those are already taken up for 2017, may get a line on 2018 though if you strike out this year.
