LAST EDITED ON Nov-01-17 AT 08:21PM (MST)[p]My wife and kids have a 32-1 and 32-1x cow elk tag. Went out today and didn't see anything. Should I wait until the snow hits? Any other advice or areas to check out? Thanks

Weather pushes a majority of the animals into this unit but they don't stay on public ground too long. There are a ridiculous amount of roads that criss cross damn near every square mile of public ground out there and get pushed onto private ground in a hurry. All about being at the right place at the right time with this tag in my experience. I've got the tag as well and I'm hoping with these early snow storms they are heading down!

Way too much illegal off road use in this area, particularly by the cow elk "cowboys". Very few "authorized" off road trails and this is a "restricted" unit for hunting big game on ATV/UTV.

Elk travel through to private mostly at night. Good luck.

99 % of the elk that are in 32 "Now" are resident elk hanging out on Private !! No snow to move them out of their summer/fall ranges yet !!
