My wife drew this tag (unit 46 and east part of 41) and so I get to play guide and find her an elk. I was on this hunt last year with a tag holder but his tag was the late late hunt that started 12/15....We found large herds of elk out towards bruneau canyon and it was a quick hunt.
Wondering if we can expect more of the same a month earlier? I would prefer not to have to go all the way down to the Diamond A desert if at all possible.
Also, there was 12" snow on last years hunt - will we need that much to get the elk down in the flats? If not, were should we look for them?
I do have access to some simplot property, but thats clear down on the south end near 3 creek and was hoping not to have to go down that far either.
