Hey fellas, I'm trying to plan a rifle elk hunt for next season. My step-dad will be joining me and will be trying to tag his first branch antlered bull. Unit 36 is the unit I've been really interested in. According to GoHunt it has a high success rate-39%. But the research I've done leads me to think that there are not many elk left here anymore. Any info you have on this unit would be greatly appreciated. NOT looking for honey holes. Id be happy to help out with my knowledge on some units in Utah.

I'm also considering units 66 or 67. Any info or opinions on any of these units would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

66-Roaded a lot. Good numbers of elk, but lots of raghorns taken, and pretty good success.

67-Not as many roads, half the population, half the harvest. Success rate is about the same, but better quality of bulls.

Unit 36 is ok, used to be better. Just like with anything else....work=success, will take a bunch of scouting to locate the elk.. just my 2 cents....

Thanks for the info. I think I've got it narrowed down to 36 or 67. I like the idea of few roads and rough country. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.
