Been toying with the idea of hunting bear in this unit. Hunted all over the state really, from Palisades to Riggins, Whitebird, Fairfield etc.....looking for some tips on where to start and will be willing to trade info on these other areas that I've mentioned, whether it be for bear, deer or elk.

Thanks

Well we only got to hunt an evening and a full day. Explored a few areas. Ran into bear hunters EVERYWHERE! hahaha. Man, 10 years ago you could go bear hunting wherever you wanted and never see another person. Times have changed.

I believe next year we will set a couple baits and go that direction. Spot and stalk is difficult at the least, when you have that many guys out baiting it makes it that much more difficult.

We didn't see any bears.

Can't wait till next spring. We may try to do a fall hunt depending on how the draws go.

Thanks to those guys that responded with advice. We appreciate it.
