Whitetail Deer Hunt

I would like to try and do a whitetail deer hunt this year. I have never hunted whitetails and would like to give it a try. Anybody willing to give me some info on places to hunt or any do's or don'ts from there hunts. Would like to do it public land but willing to pay trespass for private land also.

I have limited experience hunting whitetails.
For the most part, the further north you go the higher the whitetail density. Once you get there the deer can be anywhere so it's a matter of finding access to either public land or private and then hunting it. They seem to me to favor river bottoms and cultivated land but can be found in wilderness areas also. You can hunt them during the rut also which may help with success.
