McCall New Meadows area

Question for the MM masses out there.......There is a group of us, all friends, that are headed to New Meadows next week to stay a few days for some needed vacation time. While the hens (wives) are all cackling and catching up a couple of us guys thought we would check out the fishing scene and what it has to offer. We have heard bits and pieces through the grapevine that there is some awesome fishing to be had in the area but where we are from out of state we were hoping to get a little advise. Now I'm not looking for the magic honey hole or anything of the sorts but wondering if anyone will share some info that will save us a little time on trying to find places.

Some questions I have depending on the suggested area are: is it bait or artificial, is it lake or stream, is it best for fly fishing or drowning a worm/power bait/spinners etc.

I will be picking up a proclamation obviously when we buy our licenses but hoping to narrow things down a little so that we know what to pack as far as gear. We will have about 3 days while there plus whatever other activities we may end up doing so time could be somewhat short.

Really appreciate and information shared. If a private message is best that's fine.

Thanks again,
HD

several good lakes close to McCall Goose lake Granite Brundage Hazard all have great fishing from the banks . Lots of other lakes all around as well as excellent stream fishing . Pop onto F&G website go to the fish planner & type in McCall area will show you everything you need to know
