Hello.....am looking for opinions for the best paper map of unit 42. BLM Riggle & BLM Triangle seem to cover it. Is there something else out there that is a single map?

Many thanks!!

In light of the new bullshit trespassing laws in affect, I'd get the Onx hunt maps app for your phone unless you just must have a paper map
I have it and it's priceless

Thanks for the honesty. I wondered bout the law. Saying that, I am too old for the onx......I'm mainly wanting road ID. And.....I'll keep to wilderness if it's that big of a deal.

Thanks for your input.....I get it.

The Riddle BLM 1:100,000 topo map is the one I use. It covers everywhere I need to go to hunt that unit.

OnX will definitely help with road ID, has topo maps and satellite imagery, for $30 you can't really go wrong even if you have paper maps along for backup. Use it on your computer also to prescout from home, just make sure you save the maps on your phone for in the field use

Thanks! Hav the 2 blm maps, but never heard of the rugged.....that looks good!! Onx for me is an eye thing, not comphy.

Thanks again.....hunt is starting out well!

Appreaciated!

I picked up on your reply about the new Trespass laws.
Could you enlighten me on what they are? Most of 42 is BLM but I know the locals like to keep the access locked and it really Pisses ...... If you get my drift
Thanks, Willy

I'm sure this is an extreme simplification but what I have gathered is that it used to be very strict in that landowners had to clearly mark their un cultivated property lines every 660 feet. Landowners are now only required to do that at corners and at intersections of roads, navigable streams, and that sort of thing.
So out in 42, you can hike a long way across that desert and find yourself on PP when you may have started out on BLM.
Fine amounts were increased as well so it pays to know where you stand.....literally.

Wow......I hope that does not become a big deal to constantly be looking for boundaries instead of a nice buck.

Would like to PM someone about a place to put a toyhauler that I can get out of there in bad weather. From there I can move around with the bike in back of truck. I can offer AZ & western Wyoming similar info if someone has interests there.

Did you get the map I suggested?
I can also tell you where is the best camping spot is that you can get your toy hauler in and out of easy.
I have hunted that unit three times over the past 10 years or so and know it pretty well. I don't mind helping you out if you want it and all I ask in return is that you stay in touch and let me know how it's going and how your hunt went after it's done.
PM welcome
